Biographical history
Artista multidisciplinario chileno, uno de los pioneros del videoarte en el paÃs y el mundo. Se tituló de arquitecto en la Universidad Católica de Chile, y continuó estudios en ParÃs y Nueva York, donde residió hasta su muerte. En Chile participó en el Taller 99.

Irónica parábola de Chile. En su retorno a Santiago, Downey encuentra una sociedad oprimida por el dictador militar Augusto Pinochet; a través de una puesta en escena surrealista, intercalada con imágenes de Pinochet, Downey visualiza a la Madre Patria como una figura que devora los sÃmbolos de su propia cultura.
